Choose the U50 for regular loads: school runs, a child-seat or rail setup, grocery hauls, tools, market stock or a pet configuration. Its 400 lb figure is total payload, including rider, passenger and cargo. It is not the most portable ENVO option at about 70 lb, and a family cargo bike needs extra attention to passenger restraints, local rules and secure storage. For a solo commute, the ST50 or D50 is simpler.

ENVO lists a 750W motor, 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) maximum torque and 20 mph top assisted speed. Torque-sensor assistance matters when carrying weight because it responds to how hard you pedal. The mullet wheel layout uses a 24 x 3-inch front and 20 x 3-inch rear wheel: the larger front is intended for obstacle roll-over and tracking, while the smaller rear keeps the platform lower. Carrying children or cargo changes braking, turning and stopping distance, so begin unloaded and build up gradually.

ENVO specifies a 48V 15Ah LG 21700 pack, 720Wh, and an optional second battery. Its page claims up to 62 miles (100 km) with one battery, about 43 miles (70 km) typical everyday riding, and up to 124 miles (200 km) with the second battery. The same page gives a throttle-only scenario of about 31 miles (50 km). These are route- and load-dependent figures, not trip guarantees. Flat cargo commutes in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Miami reach the top of the claim. Hill routes in Seattle, San Francisco, and Pittsburgh land near the bottom, especially with children aboard. The 48V charger is stated as UL-c-us listed. This is a charger claim, not an inference that the complete bike has a UL 2849 system listing.

The U50 page identifies Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, integrated lighting and a brake light. ENVO publishes a UL-c-us listed 48V charger, but it does not state a model-specific complete-system UL 2849 certification on the page, so StreetRides does not claim one. Passenger safety is more than a payload number: use the appropriate compatible seats, rails, footrests and helmets. Ensure nothing can contact the rear wheel. And learn loaded braking in a clear area before carrying another person.

The constraints are equally real: loaded handling takes practice, real range falls with load and cold, and the listing does not substitute the charger certification claim for a whole-bike UL claim.
