Forest XM is a full-suspension 27.5-inch electric mountain bike. Velowave publishes a 1000W motor, torque sensor and 960Wh battery.

Its central decision is whether the trail chassis and capacity fit the ownership reality. A published 76 lb net weight favors ground-level storage, and stated range is conditional.

All variants are $3,199. Plan 2 only for both Dark Green SKUs and 0 for both Dark Blue SKUs, pending allocation reconciliation.

Best for mixed-surface riders with secure ground-level storage who want 27.5 x 2.8 tires and air suspension.

Velowave's 17-inch fit range is 5 ft 5 in to 6 ft 4 in with 31 to 35-inch inseam. The 19-inch range is 5 ft 6 in to 6 ft 5 in with 33 to 36-inch inseam. Use them as starting points, not a fit substitute.

Choose another option if stair carrying, confirmed packaged weight or model-specific certification documentation is required.

Velowave lists 1000W motor, 1200W peak output and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) torque. Those are manufacturer claims, not StreetRides acceleration or hill tests.

Current exact-page language lists torque sensing, up to 37 mph pedal assist and 20 mph throttle. An older blog says 28 mph, so this page uses current wording with the up-to qualifier and no universal class.

Tektro 180 mm hydraulic discs, 27.5 x 2.8 tires, Deore 10-speed drivetrain and air suspension describe configuration, not measured results. Verify state and local e-bike rules before riding.

Velowave publishes a removable internal 48V 20Ah LG-cell battery, listed as 960Wh.

It claims 75 miles average PAS, up to 85 miles at PAS 1 and 60 miles by throttle using stated level-road conditions. Hills, load, speed, weather and assist level change usable range.

The 48V 3A charger has about seven-hour stated charge time. The manufacturer does not publish an exact replacement-battery part number or price. Terrain sets your real range: flat commutes in Chicago, Dallas, and Minneapolis reach the top of the claim, while hill routes in Seattle, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh land near the bottom.

Velowave lists 180 mm Tektro hydraulic discs with power cut-off, 80-lux front LED and rear blinking light. They are published equipment details, not StreetRides test results.

We found no model-specific UL 2849, ANSI or other certification claim on the current product page. StreetRides does not borrow a certificate from another model.

No water-resistance rating was found. Protect electronics appropriately and verify local rules before riding.

Velowave lists the bike, charger, battery, lights, pedals, manual, Allen wrench and two spare spokes. Plan assembly, fastener, brake, tire and shifting checks before first ride.

Eligible purchases after March 22, 2024 have a stated two-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects, subject to terms and exclusions. Retain order, serial and service records.

StreetRides has not confirmed local service, a replacement-battery price, or a packaged shipping weight.

Motor: 1000W, 1200W peak, 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) and torque sensor. Current exact-page speed wording is up to 37 mph pedal assist and 20 mph throttle.

Battery: removable internal 48V 20Ah LG-cell pack, 960Wh. Published claims are 75-mile average PAS, 85-mile PAS 1 and 60-mile throttle range with stated test conditions.

Chassis: 6061 aluminum frame, 133 mm frame travel, 140 mm lockout air fork and RockShox rear air spring with 44 mm travel.

Running gear: 27.5-inch rims, Kenda 27.5 x 2.8 tires, Tektro 180 mm hydraulic discs and Deore 10-speed drivetrain.

Fit and load: published 76 lb net including battery, 11.4 lb battery and 385 lb maximum load. Packaged shipping weight, replacement-battery part number and model-specific certificate are not published by the manufacturer.

Forest XM suits riders who value a published 960Wh battery and 27.5-inch full-suspension chassis for rougher routes. Its parts list supports that on paper.

The ownership compromise is significant. The 76 lb published net weight calls for ground-level storage, range is conditional, and current speed wording does not create universal path access.

Only Dark Green variants are planned at 2. Blue remain 0. It is out of stock pending the next shipment. Buyers requiring certification documentation or a known replacement-battery path should obtain those records first.

KEY ADVANTAGES

Why This Ride Stands Out

  • Velowave Forest XM Forest XM rear shock and frame-travel detail 133 mm of trail-tuned travel

A 133 mm-travel frame, 140 mm lockout air fork and RockShox rear shock give the Forest XM genuine suspension hardware for broken pavement and uneven trail surfaces.

  • Velowave Forest XM Forest XM battery and frame detail 960Wh for mixed-surface days

Its removable 48V 20Ah LG-cell battery is 960Wh. Velowave publishes 75 miles average PAS, but grade, rider load, speed, wind and assist level control actual range.

  • Velowave Forest XM Forest XM cockpit display and brake controls Control hardware, rule check

Tektro 180 mm hydraulic discs, a torque sensor and Deore 10-speed drivetrain support measured terrain changes. Confirm the local rules before using its higher pedal-assist setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Velowave claims 75 miles average PAS, up to 85 miles at PAS 1 and 60 miles by throttle from its 960Wh battery. Those are manufacturer claims under stated level-road conditions, not a promise for your route.

The plan assigns 2 to FR-FXM17DG and FR-FXM19DG, the Dark Green SKUs. FR-FXM17DB and FR-FXM19DB, both Dark Blue, remain at 0. Reconcile availability and inventory location before a write.

Velowave publishes 76 lb net including battery and 11.4 lb for the battery. That is not packaged shipping weight. Plan for ground-level storage or lifting help.

StreetRides did not find a model-specific UL 2849, ANSI or other certification claim on the current product page or live listing. Request exact documentation if a building, insurer or employer needs it.

No. Current exact-page wording lists up to 37 mph pedal assist and 20 mph throttle, while state and local rules control access. Verify the rules for your intended route.

Velowave lists a removable internal 48V 20Ah LG-cell battery and about seven-hour charge time. This research did not establish a replacement-battery part number or price, so confirm that path before relying on the bike daily.
