Choose this bike if ground-level storage, easier mounting, a large removable battery and steady mixed-surface manners matter more than a short folding footprint. It is a practical candidate for errands and recreational routes where the included rack and fenders are useful.

Look elsewhere if you must lift a bike up stairs, need an unambiguous packaged weight for a carrier, or strongly prefer a torque sensor that reacts to pedal pressure. The published dimensions should start a fit conversation, not replace a test ride or storage measurement.

Velowave publishes a 750W rated geared hub motor, a 1,200W peak claim and 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) maximum torque. The rated figure is the clearer reference for ordinary use. StreetRides has not measured acceleration, hill climbing or sustained output.

Velowave positions the bike as Class 3, with up to 28 mph pedal assist and a 20 mph throttle setting. Its published speed sensor is a material comparison point: it is not the torque-sensor setup Velowave uses for the Ranger Step-Thru 3.0. Verify your state and local e-bike rules before riding, especially with throttle-equipped or higher-speed settings.

A lockout 60 mm hydraulic fork, 26 x 4.0 tires and hydraulic discs describe the hardware basis for mixed pavement and light unpaved riding. They do not prove a particular off-road or braking result.

Velowave lists a removable 48V 15Ah battery, or 720Wh, with LG cells. It also lists a 48V 2A UL-listed charger and an approximately eight-hour charge time, which makes a home charging routine more realistic than a quick top-up expectation. Terrain sets your real range: flat commutes in Chicago, Dallas, and Minneapolis reach the top of the claim, while hill routes in Seattle, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh land near the bottom.

The manufacturer claims 65 miles average range on PAS, up to 90 miles at PAS 1 and 30 miles by throttle. Treat every one of those numbers as conditional. Rider and cargo load, higher assist, speed, hills, wind, cold, stops and tire pressure can reduce usable range.

The manufacturer does not publish an exact replacement-battery part number or price. Confirm the current part number, service process and warranty treatment before buying for essential daily transport.

The listed hardware includes hydraulic disc brakes with 180 mm rotors and motor cut-off, plus a 48V 10W headlight. Those are useful specification checks, not a StreetRides braking test.

Velowave displays wording that the bike is safety certified in accordance with UL 2849. Treat that as a manufacturer claim. No independent exact-model listing is published. If a building, employer, insurer or campus needs evidence, request documentation for the delivered configuration.

Throttle use, speed settings and path access are governed locally. Check the rules for the route and configuration you will actually use.

Velowave lists the bike, charger, battery, headlight, reflector, pedals, printed manual and basic wrenches in the box. Before the first ride, confirm the front wheel, fasteners, brake operation, tire pressure, lights and controls. A local bicycle shop can be a sensible inspection option when you do not have the tools or confidence.

Its main limits are equally important. A low step does not make a long fat-tire bike portable, package-weight evidence conflicts, and the speed-sensor assist may feel less proportional than a torque sensor. It is not the right answer for routine stair carry or a buyer who needs those details settled before checkout.
