The 48V 15Ah LG lithium-ion battery is listed at 720Wh. VTUVIA publishes up to 80 miles with pedal assist and up to 50 miles throttle-only. Those come from laboratory conditions. Rider, route, weather, speed, assist, and tire pressure all change the real result.

The listed 54.6V/2A charger takes about 6.5 hours. That is an overnight-style charging plan, not a promise about every recharge. A replacement-battery part number and price are not published, so keep that ownership question in your decision. Terrain sets your real range. Flat commutes in Chicago, Dallas, and Minneapolis reach the top of the claim. Hill routes in Seattle, San Francisco, or Pittsburgh land near the bottom.

The XT8 has dual Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 7.1-inch rotors. Lighting covers a headlight, rear light, brake light, and turn signals. Those features improve control and visibility. They do not remove the need for a helmet, responsible speed, or a compliant route.

VTUVIA's site uses a general UL-certified-battery message. We did not find an exact XT8 UL 2849 or UL 2271 certificate or public listing. The page's IP67 paragraph names a different Zeal LT8 model. We do not apply that water-resistance statement to the XT8. Verify your state and local e-bike rules before riding.

The XT8's best case is practical. It offers a low-step frame, torque-aware assistance, and eight gears. A large 720Wh battery, suspension, hydraulic brakes, and useful commuter lighting complete it. That combination fits a hilly daily route better than a simple entry-level city bike.

The ownership check is just as important. At 65 lb and non-folding, it wants easy ground-level storage. Its 80-mile and 50-mile figures are manufacturer maximums. Its official page contains contradictory torque, payload, and tire-width text. Exact-model certification and water-resistance documentation were not located. Choose it when the equipment and route fit are worth those checks. No single headline number settles the purchase.
