Ratings also age poorly here. Sellers relaunch listings, revise models under the same name, and carry ratings across variants, so a high average can describe an earlier version of the product. Check the date of recent reviews, not just the number.
How we built this dataset
We queried the DataForSEO Amazon Products API against the Amazon.com marketplace with ten electric scooter search terms (location code 2840, language en_US, depth 100). We deduplicated by ASIN to 492 unique listings. We parsed price, motor wattage, top speed, folding status, and seat availability from listing titles and structured fields. Commuter versus off-road labels are inferred from title keywords. Advertised range was too sparsely stated to report reliably. Full method: our research methodology.
