OMW Cavalry Long-Range Electric Skateboard

Choose the Cavalry when you already know how to manage a remote-controlled board and want battery reserve for longer paved routes, private-property riding, or mixed surfaces. The wide deck and 330 lb published load ceiling also give larger riders a more relevant option than many compact boards.

Think twice if you need to carry your board onto transit or up several flights. OMW lists 38.5 lb. Also verify the exact law and property rules before a public ride in cities such as Los Angeles, Denver or Austin. Electric skateboards do not inherit e-bike access simply because they have an electric motor.

OMW publishes a 37 mph top-speed claim, a 40 percent climbing claim and a 3,500W maximum skateboard-power figure for the dual Hobbywing drive. StreetRides has not measured any of them. Rider weight, deck flex, wheel package, grade length, wind, temperature and battery state all change what you feel through the remote.

OMW publishes about 50 miles with 105mm MAD Wheelz V2, 34 miles with 175mm pneumatic wheels and up to 52 miles with 125mm MAD MAX wheels. Those are favorable-condition manufacturer figures. Build your own route history at modest speed and keep enough reserve to return without relying on the final battery bar.

The battery is published as a 12S4P pack using Samsung 21700 50S cells, rated at 20Ah and 864Wh. OMW supplies a 50.4V 6A charger and states about 3.5 hours for charging under normal conditions.

Charge dry, attended and away from an exit path with the compatible supplied equipment. Do not charge after water exposure, impact, swelling, connector damage or unusual heat. Phoenix summer storage and freezing winter garages can both be hard on lithium-ion batteries, so follow the official storage guidance rather than leaving the board in a vehicle.

A published 37 mph ceiling changes the equipment conversation. Use a skateboard-rated helmet, wrist guards, knee and elbow protection, gloves, closed-toe shoes and abrasion-resistant clothing. Learn acceleration and regenerative braking in the lowest mode on clear private property before adding speed.

OMW states IP56 water resistance but also says not to ride in rain or wet conditions. StreetRides found an FCC-linked Cavalry manual, but no evidence supporting a broader complete-board safety certification claim. This page therefore does not turn IP or FCC information into a promise of safe wet riding, legality or independent performance testing.

The Cavalry includes an OLED remote, charger, handle, tail light, tools and a manual. Belt tension, pulleys, wheel hardware, truck fasteners, bushings, deck condition, remote pairing and battery behavior all belong on your ownership checklist. Pneumatic wheels also add tire pressure and puncture care.

OMW publishes one year of coverage for key or electrical components and lifetime coverage for the carbon-composite deck. Manufacturer terms and claim decisions still apply. The Cavalry earns its place when range reserve, rider-specific deck flex and real wheel choice matter more than portability. The 105mm setup favors paved range. 175mm pneumatic wheels trade distance and simplicity for compliance over rougher surfaces. The 2-in-1 packages cost more but let you change the board around the route.

It is not the sensible OMW starting point for everyone. At 38.5 lb and with a 37 mph manufacturer ceiling, the board asks for experience, protective gear, maintenance discipline and a legal place to ride. Buy it because those conditions fit you, not because the biggest headline number wins.
