The Heybike Saturn is a moped-style commuter e-bike with a 52V hub motor (1000W, 1800W peak, 95 Nm). It ships set to 28 mph, and you can lower it to 20 mph in the Heybike app or on the display. It is UL 2849 certified.

Range is the headline. One battery is rated for 30 to 50 miles and two for 60 to 100 miles. The Saturn suits daily round-trips of 15 to 35 miles more than short city hops.

It is built for comfort, not portability. A 140 mm hydraulic fork, rear spring shock and 20 x 4-inch tires smooth the ride. Performance

The 52V hub motor gives 1000W continuous, 1800W peak and 95 Nm of torque. It pulls a heavier rider plus cargo from a stop without the strain a 500W or 750W motor would show. A cadence sensor turns on assist when you pedal, and the throttle responds right away.

The Saturn ships set to 28 mph, and the app or display lets you lower it to 20 mph (Class 2 style). Its 1000W motor is above the 750W limit most state e-bike laws use, so some states treat it as a moped. Keep it at 20 mph on bike paths, and check your state and local rules before riding.

A hub motor is less efficient than a mid-drive on long climbs over 8 percent, but it needs less upkeep. You can set each pedal-assist level's speed in the Heybike app.

Battery

The Saturn comes with one 52V 18.4Ah battery or two (52V 36.8Ah total). 52V is higher than the usual 48V at this price, which means less power drop under load.

Heybike rates the single battery (52V 18.4Ah) for 30 to 50 miles and the dual battery (52V 36.8Ah) for 60 to 100 miles, at low assist with a light rider. A 180 lb rider at mid assist on rolling roads should plan on about 18 to 30 miles with one battery and 35 to 55 miles with two. Cold, heavy throttle use, hills and heavier riders cut range further.

The included 58.8V 3A charger fills a battery in about 4 to 7 hours. With two batteries, charge them one after the other, or add a second charger. Use only Heybike chargers, and charge in a dry, ventilated area while you are home.
